2D Art Elective

  • What is this class? Do you want to improve your drawings skills? This course is for you!  Students will create more advanced drawings and paintings as they apply the Elements and Principles of Art.  You will even try out some digital art and photography!
  • What are the Units we will learn?:  Drawing, Acrylic and Watercolor Painting, Digital Art & Photography,and Review of Elements of Art, Principles of Design
How do I earn a grade?: 

  • ​Class Preparation 10% → Be organized, be prepared, use and clean all art material/tools correctly.  Each art class day you have the opportunity to earn points in this category
  • Classwork 30% → This includes any note-taking, writing self-reflections, research, and most of all, Sketchbook assignments.  Sketchbook assignments include various exercises, practice drawings or experimental techniques of new art materials. This is a great way to earn points is graded more on completion rather than quality of art.
  • ​Performance Tasks 60% → Working like an artist, you will complete 2-5 long-term Studio Art Projects based on each unit of study listed above.  You will utilize your Period 5 extended time to work on these projects. These are evaluated based on the quality of the art.
